One player starts a room — public to meet new people, or private for your crew. Everyone joins on their own phone with a short code, in person or online. No passing required.
Each player privately sees their role: Civilian or Impostor. Civilians get the secret word or question — the Impostor gets only a vague hint, a decoy, or nothing.
Players take turns dropping clues or answering aloud. In Word mode you go around three times before the vote. The Impostor must blend in without knowing what everyone else got.
Everyone votes to unmask the Impostor. Civilians score for catching them; the Impostor scores for surviving. Points stack across rounds until a winner is crowned.
All players see the same secret word — the Impostor gets only a vague hint or nothing. For example, everyone sees 'Compass' while the Impostor sees just 'Device'. Describe it with associations, without saying it outright.
Everyone answers the same question — except the Impostor, who secretly gets a different one. For example, most players see 'What would be your last words before jumping out of a plane?' while the Impostor gets 'What would you scream on a roller coaster?'. Spot the odd answer out.
